Free parking – Park your vehicle in The Duniway / Executive Suites parking lot on Taylor between 5th and 6th. On the right side (north side) half way up the block . It is very clearly marked as a parking garage. We’ll validate your parking pass at the check in table when you join us. Give this validated ticket to the attendant when you exit the garage.

Member Showcase – discover the latest happenings between Oregon and Japan from 12 of our members, showcasing their products and services.

Hors d’oeuvres by Chef Naoko – a selection of delicious Japan-inspired appetizers with Chef Naoko’s unique Oregon twist

Hosted Bar with beer and wine: our thanks to Sapporo Beer, Anchor Brewing, Culmination Brewing, and Torii Mor winery.

Silent Auction – great gifts and experiences, help us raise funds to support our Women’s Leadership Council work to develop women’s leadership skills.

50/50 raffle – to benefit Japan on the Road. Help our ALL-volunteer team visit elementary schools and teach children about the wonder and importance of Japan. Bring your cash to purchase an arm-length of tickets. And – one lucky winner takes home 50% of all monies collected!

Red Carpet Selfie Spot – get your photos taken with friends and colleagues; your phone or our photographer!

Meet our MC for the evening, Wesleigh Ogle from KATU News, dressed in a stunning kimono from the Portland Kimono Club.

Network – with friends, with colleagues, with our Member Showcase members. Bring plenty of business cards and make new relationships. At JASO events, networking is always a priority.

 

 

 

 

 

7-8:30pm Dinner & Program

We kick off with a warm welcome from Wesleigh Ogle. Then, incoming JASO Chair Dean Alterman runs the AGM part of the meeting. Members approve the new Board of Directors.

Consul General Teraoka takes a few moments to introduce us to the new era of “reiwa” in Japan, followed by kampai.

Japan-inspired 3-course dinner is served.

Oral Auction of 2 round-trip tickets to Japan from Portland, generously donated by Delta Air Lines; and get all your gift needs taken care of with a great prize of 12 !!!!!!!! pairs of shoes from KEEN Footwear!

 

Entertainment from CoRai, who have flown in from Tokyo to perform for us. CoRai are jazz pianist Kentaro Kihara and shamisen player Hiroshi Yamaguchi. CoRai plays music where east meets west, the old meets the new, and their music builds bridges beyond borders. Included is a collaboration with local artists Yumi Torimaru and Kohgetsu Aoki, showcasing an upbeat performance that’s great entertainment for all.

8:30pm Program closes, check-out opens.
