Nov 17, KEEN Footwear opens matching donation program for Typhoon Hagibis recovery

by Lynn Moyers on October 17, 2019

KEEN Footwear is an amazing, community-focused organization that really believes in, and invests heavily in, its relationship with Japan.

At JASO we’re truly honored to have KEEN believe in, and invest in our work also. Many of you have come to know and enjoy relationships with KEEN team members.

KEEN’s Japan operations has been working on the ground for a couple of years now in disaster response, often providing work boots to volunteers on the ground for free, plus a variety of logistics assistance.

KEEN now works consistently with a reputable Japanese NGO in this field, Open Japan.

In response to Typhoon Hagibis, plus Typhoon #15 that recently affected Japan, KEEN has announced a disaster relief fund with a donation match up to the value of $100,000. That means, if you support with a $10 (one thousand yen) donation, KEEN will match it with a $10 (one thousand yen) (approx.) donation, until that total of around $100,000 has been reached.

You can help, and double your donation by giving through the KEEN-Open Japan system.

You can give by credit card directly here

The English language option is at the bottom. One thousand yen is approximately $10. The credit card completion information is currently still in the Japanese language, so have someone who reads Japanese help you if you need it. The group is working on a full English-language donation page right now.
