Friday Dec 4th, Virtual Celebration Announced

by Lynn Moyers on October 28, 2020

We were all disappointed to cancel our in-person Annual Dinner in traditional manner this year. But we are determined to celebrate the strong relationship between Japan and Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Portland-based ZGF Architects is a great example of the innovative idea flow and business collaboration between here and Japan, partnering on projects including Kashiwanoha (Chiba), Makuhari (Chiba), Nagoya Station (Aichi), Chigasaki (Kanagawa), Maebashi (Gunma), and Saku City (Nagano) to develop communities of the future.

During our celebration, ZGF will present “A High-Quality Diligent Life: How Portland Sensibility Drives Japanese City Design”.

We also celebrate the State of Oregon’s relationship with Toyama-ken, and you can order special Taste of Toyama bento or sushi selection from Chef Naoko (separate transaction). Each order for our event includes a free cup of sake from SakéOne, and a free glass of beer from Sapporo Premium Beer! Check out the dishes HERE and order yours NOW before they sell out!

After a short time on JASO’s latest news and hosting our AGM, we move straight into our casual networking, meet others who have joined us – locally, nationally, and from Japan. Even better – invite your friends and colleagues from Japan to join you!

JASO members may attend our Virtual Celebration without charge as a benefit of membership.

However, at this time we are asking all to consider supporting us with an additional donation as you register. Every year attendees at our traditional Annual Dinner, as a Company or Individual, include a donation to JASO within the ticket price. Please also make sure your membership is current. Your support is vital to our work. Thank you.
