Japan On The Road Volunteer Opportunities

Japan on the Road would not exist without our volunteers! Our JOR teams have introduced more than 27,000 American children to contemporary Japan since we began teaching in 1996.

You can help us teach elementary students in Oregon and SW Washington about Japan by volunteering to be part of JOR! New and continuing volunteers participate in a training workshop, where experienced team members teach new volunteers about using the kit. In addition, JASO staff provide one-to-one training sessions and new volunteers are encouraged to attend classroom visits as observers. Once you feel comfortable with the program, we start you out slowly until you’re ready to become a full fledged JOR team member!
To learn more about volunteering, please contact Sheryl Fuller at (503) 552-8814 or the JASO office at 503-552-8811. You may also send an e-mail to sfuller@jaso.org or complete and submit the application form (pdf).
