Committees

Get more deeply involved in our work by joining one of our volunteer committees. Our programming in business, education and culture is all driven by teams of volunteers drawn from our membership who are passionate about JASO and delivering our mission.

Business Affairs Committee

Operates our Business Speaker Series of 4 to 6 events annually.

Membership & Marketing Committee

Retaining current members and reaching out to potential new members. Hosting events such as Corporate Connections (visiting facilities), After Hours (networking), New Member Orientations and Cross-Cultural Workshops.

Entrepreneurs Committee

Supporting the Prosper Portland B2B program that connects Japanese and local entrepreneurs, by helping Japanese companies with their sales pitches.

Cultural Committee

Creates annual shinnenkai and Beer Garden events, plus other cultural gatherings such as Japanese Movie Nights.

Education Committee

Helps develop resources and oversees Japan on the Road, Japan Bowl and Toyama Cup programming.

Women’s Leadership Council

To inspire and empower women and supporters of women through US-Japan related events.

NEXT

A diverse group of young professionals aged 21-35, seeking new ways to develop the US-Japan relationship in the community.

Golf Committee

Love the sport? Or just want to help JASO fundraise? Our annual Golf Tournament brings all together for a fun, and sometimes competitive, round of golf. We’d be thrilled to have you join us.

Tomodachi-kai Committee

Tomodachi-kai is a JASO entity, but operates quasi-independently. Tomodachi-kai membership is separate from JASO membership. Learn more about tomodachi-kai here.
